The girl looked up from where she was sitting. Although she didn't look any less scared, at least she didn't seem to be jumping out of her skin anymore.
Meanwhile, at a nearby bar, Apollo and Gordon Freeman were wasted.
"And they told me -- hahahah --" Gordon started, before hiccuping. "That they canceled it because it might end the world! I mean, seriously now! What's the chances that a resonance cascade would cause aliens to take over the facility or maybe some huge interdimensional alien organization to conquer the world something! Hahahahaha! That's just ridiculous!"
Apollo laughed as well.
