((Not my first RP ever, but it is my first RP on this site. So, please tell me if I'm doing something wrong. ^^))
"And that's the last one." Julia pushed one last panel into place along the wall and stood back to admire her work. She had spent several weeks re-routing chamber 19 to an elevator instead of a large incincerator. Whose idea was it anyway to have a chamber lead to certain death? If a test subject died while testing it wasn't supposed to be because of the chamber, but the subject's own incompitence when faced with a challening puzzle.
Julia reached into her labcoat and pulled out a small white device with a microphone on the end. She pressed a button and said into the device, "Wheatley, the last chamber's repairs are finished. I'm bringing in some subjects to test it. Sir, if you have something else in mind please tell me." It was only a message, not a live call, since Wheatley was usually very busy. That was where Julia came in. She managed the projects he was too busy to get too.
She walked over to the beginning of the chamber and showed her ID code to the elevator and pressed a hidden button inside the door. Instead of taking her to the previous chamber, it brought her to the observation area of chamber one.
A smile on her face, she changed the signal on her little device and pressed the button again. Her voice came over the speakers in several different relaxation vaults. "Hello test subject. You have been chosen as part of a group to test on the newly refurbished Testing Track A. It has nineteen chambers and no longer ends in a fire pit. Your door is now unlocked. Please wait for the elevator to tak you to the first chamber. I will be waiting for you in the Employee Observation area of the chamber. If you require any assistance, please scream. If Mr. Wheatley is too busy to come to your aid I will send a robot out to help you. Thank you."

(Yay!) A soft humming drifted down from one of the older halls, accompanied by the wirr of something on a management rail, and an odd tapping.

Julia was sitting at the old desk, staring out the cracked window into the test chamber. The tests had been fixed up to appear new, but the employee observation chambers still had cracked windows, dusty desks and occasionally a plant or two hanging from the celing. Julia hadn't gotten around to cleaning them up yet. It was hard to do on her own, and with some of the chambers she didn't want to erase the strange art.
She sat there, impatiently tapping her fingers on the desk when she heard a noise outside. She stood up and pushed open the door, walking out into the hall. It was in the same shape as the observation area. Old and ruined, yet to be fixed. But what was the noise? She followed the sound for a few minutes and soon found the source. A personality core. All on its own, cruising around on its management rail.
"Excuse me, what's your name?" Julia asked the core. The only core she knew was Wheatley. And Pendelton, but they were the same core. "I don't recognize your optic pattern. I'm Julia Pendelton, a personality core engineer and Wheatley's assistant."

"Oh, hi!" The core blurted, then stopped to process what the woman had said. "I'm Craft...the Arts and Recreation Core?" Again she paused, this time to see if she'd triggered any kind of recognition. "...No? Well, that's okay, can't say I've heard of you either. Funny, thought I knew all the scientists...Ah well. Julia was it? Pleasure to meet you!"

She smiled at the core and replied, "Same to you, Craft. Hmm, I remember some other cores being talked about once, but they had no real names. Just Curiosity, Logic and Morality. Part of the infernal GLaDOS project. But I'm getting off topic." she said, clapping her hands together like a teacher would before giving a speech to the class. Julia then gestured around the derilect hallway. "Why are you back here? This place isn't exactly safe. Your rail could fall out of the roof any minute. I'm afraid I haven't gotten to fix this hall yet. Only the chambers so far. Oh, speaking of which the test subjects might be there now. Would you like to come see the tests?"

Jo got up and stretched. Testing? If she didn't know the scientists from Ape-no, Wheatley Laboratories, as they had been when she'd AWoken, she would've thought they'd give her more time to adjust to her new appliances(in this case updated leg supports/fall devices which were lighter). Then again, Where was she supposed to get used to them? yawning, she pulled her jumpsuit over her pauldron-like shoulder pads and opened the door.

"Oh, I'd love to watch! But, ah..." Craft looked about as sheepish as a core could. "'Fraid my rail only wrapps around these offices. They had me running messages for a while, see...I can't leave."

"I could always disconnect you and carry you." Julia suggested. "I do need to get back to the chambers, but I don't want to leave you here. Safety is important." She checked her watch, thought about her options for a moment and went to disconnect Craft from the rail. "I'll put you back on later, don't worry. And if Wheatley gets mad I'll take the blame."
Once the core was safely in her hands Julia walked back to the observation area and placed Craft on the desk, facing the window into the chamber. "Great view, huh?" She looked into the chamber and noticed someone was already there. She scrambled for her little device and after almost dropping it, spoke into the mic.
Her voice reverberated through the chamber. "Hello test subject! Thank you for coming!" I wonder where the others are... "I see you already have a handheld portal device. That's good. This is the first of nineteen chambers you will be participating in. Your time and effort in each chamber will be recorded for science. You may begin."
Once she was done talking to the girl in the chamber she turned to Craft with the smile of a giddy schoolgirl. "Oh, I just love the tests. I've never gotten to try a portal gun, so it's fascinating to watch."

Jo got past the first one easily, starting right after Julia finished talking.

Craft peered down, strangely quiet after how chatty she'd been earlier. Her optic was wide, fixated on the view. As the door at the end of the chamber opened, she hummed a happy little trilling sound. "Oooh, fantastic! Dynamic! Don't get to see that every day, that's for sure!" She tilted her optic to beam at Julia. "Wish I had a pencil...and hands, actually."

Jo looks around when she gets into the second chamber. SHe could get through it easily, but the woman on the intercom((I think that's what it's called, right))had said it was a group test, and nobody else was here yet, so she may as well wait. TO pass the time she did the "eternal fall" trick with her portal gun. SHe might be a cyborg, but she hadn't been outside in...years, probably, and this was the closest thing she could get to running-not running away or towards something, but just running to be running.

Savannah stretched in the elevator. She was fairly new to the whole testing thing, but she was excited at the thought of testing with more people. She began to hum due to the silence of the elevator wearing on her brain. The doors slid open to the second test chamber and she stepped out, her long fall boot clacking with each step. She looked over at the other test subject, who was falling through an infinite loop, and smiled. "Hi!"
