His optic shrunk. "Oh. I must've wanted to do that. Makes sense, really."

A.M. shrugged and put on one of the backpacks, the one holding the rope, grappling hooks and a couple cans of beans. She went rummaging through a cabinet and came up with several backup batteries and a long, thin, black cord and put them in the backpack as well. "W-what all do we have here? What's in your bag?" she said looking at you.

Savannah smiled. "I have..." She looked inside her bag, which was slightly bigger. "A sleeping bag, a jug of water, a can of corn, a blanket, some bandages and a can of beans."

"S-should get some anti-disinfectents. There's lots-a sharp metal edges d-down there." She lifted up her jumpsuit pant leg to show a large, ugly scar. "Got i-infected."

Savannah cringed a bit. "Ooh. Um... There's probably a first aid station around here." She searched the room until she found one. She took a bottle of sanitizer and a few gauzes for good measure.

"Good." She nodded. "A-and this" -- a little package with various screwdrivers and an Aperture Science Personality Core Repair manual -- "just in case."

She led the way through the back maintenance areas to a hatch with you and the core following. "T-this is where I came in."

Savannah nodded.
"Was She... Angry?" The core asked, shivering.

[MilkChocolateCandy]

"S-she doesn't like me. 'Cause when I 'scaped I stole the portal gun." A.M. smiled for the first time since she had entered Aperture. "The boss here was quite p-pleased 'cause it meant he din't have to find 'nother one."

Savannah raised an eyebrow but remained silent.
"Huh. And I guess you wouldn't know anything about Her?" She asked the core.
"She's terrible. Awful. Evil. The list goes on and on..." He said, his shutters partially closed to express anger and hatred.

The hatch was a giant, round door that was something like a mile high. "Y-you'll laugh at what's behind there," she said, pointing for you to go to one of the two control rooms on either side of the area. "We haaaave to push these two buttons same-time."

Savannah grinned and rushed over to the room. "Alright!"
The core stared at the hatch, his optic wide.

With loud alarm noises and flashing lights making an impressive display, the hatch slowly lifted to reveal .... a wall, with a normal-sized door at the bottom, looking as though it had been left as an afterthought. Beside it was a folding chair and a tipped-over ashtray, as though somebody thought they needed a security guard behind the giant hatch door.

The core blinked slowly. "Well that was anticlimactic."

A.M. laughed, which sounded sort of like a donkey. "T-there's an elevator some way down t-the hall." She flipped a breaker switch, which turned on the electricity with a loud crackle. "Got t'go through some of the old 'en-rich-ment spheres' to get to Her testing track." She swallowed.

Savannah smiled as she walked up to the core. "What were you expecting?"
"I don't know. Maybe a big, terrifying chamber or something..." The core shrugged.
She snickered before opening the door.
